On August 21st, at Five to Five hotel, NUDOR conducted the General Assembly with its member organizations. The event started with a PowerPoint illustration of the meeting agenda and ensured that all participants were in agreement and on track as the organized agenda. The presentation was followed by opening remarks from the chairperson of NUDOR, Mr. Dominique BIZIMANA.
NUDOR President highlighted the issue of lack of transmitting reports from NUDOR member organizations. In response to this problem/shortcoming, member organizations stated that they are going to correct this drawback. Afterwards, Jean Damascene NSENGIYUMVA, the executive secretary of NUDOR, took the audience through the written report of General assembly that happened last year and all participants agreed on it.
The executive secretary of NUDOR shared a concern after the presentation on how skills present in the midst of member organizations are not promoted or empowered like they should be, briefly, in a satisfactory model. To find a solution to this problem, there should be a list that has a number of people with their expertise area that will help NUDOR to give information to anybody in need of a kind of expertise.
Attendees requested clarifications on how NUDOR use funds in different activities instead of distributing these funds to member organizations for field activities. This was answered by both the chair Person and Executive secretary explaining NUDOR performs activities that are on National Level, while member organizations are given funds for the projects that are on specific categories of persons with disability. They also explained that this varies with the existing system that has been put in place to manage who is allowed to go on the field and who isn’t. Moreover, NUDOR stated lucidly that they were mainly interested in the activities/actions carried out by their member organizations according to the category in which the member organizations are classified.

During this assembly meeting Member Organizations were informed that it is in their responsibility to give reports to NUDOR that can help NUDOR secretariat and the board to know what are their daily activities and what are their plans. This can help NUDOR secretariat to know who they may connect with a partner for proposals and funds for a specific project.
The event ended with a voting session of a new Conflicts Resolution and Audit committee since the previous one had completed its mandate. Members voted for the new Conflict Resolution committee are Sabena Joseph, the president; Iriza Marie Claire Dinnah, the vice president and Nadia, the secretary. Members voted for the new Audit committee are Higiro Jean de Dieu voted as President, Mukabwankwawe Liliane, vice president and Uwizeyimana Chantal the secretary.
