NUDOR GENERAL ASSEMBLY WELCOMED TWO NEW MEMBER ORGANISATIONS.

NUDOR welcomed new two member organisations this 22 April 2022 by its general meeting that took place at Kigali city, the capital of Rwanda. The member organizations are now 15 instead of 13.

Introducing the general assembly meeting, NUDOR reflected back at the resolutions of the previous general assembly and approved them. After this approval, the second subject on agenda was on receiving two new member organizations.

The president of NUDOR Mr. BIZIMANA Dominique said that the board has assessed the application of many organizations but at the end find that only two organizations complied with both NUDOR and Government requirements including certificate of registration from The Rwanda Governance Board RGB. These organizations are Rwanda Organization Persons with Deaf Blindness (ROPDB) and Rwanda Organization of persons with Physical Disability and Wheelchair Users (ROPPD-WU). The General assembly requested the new member organisations representatives to tell the assembly about their organizations’ activities and what new they are bringing to NUDOR as an umbrella to focus on them for their membership approval or disapproval.

The representative of ROPDB Mr. FURAHA Jean Marie said that as new organization they are happy to be accepted as one of NUDOR member organizations and insisted that they will focus on advocacy of persons with Deaf Blindness.

MUKANYEMAZI Adele, the chairperson of Rwanda Organisation of persons with Physical Disability and Wheelchair Users said that they thought about creating a new organization of this category of disability and decided to advocate for them by holding them together and advocate for their proper problems and challenges.

The general assembly approved their reception by common consensus and clapping. Currently NUDOR has 15 member organisations from 13 that they had before. The previous 13 Member Organizations were; Association Générale des Handicapés du Rwanda (AGHR), Collectif Tubakunde, National Organisation of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry (NOUSPR), National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Rwanda Union of the Blind (RUB), Rwanda National Association of Deaf Women (RNADW), Rwanda National Union of the Deaf (RNUD), Troupes des Personnes Handicapées Twuzazanye (THT), UWEZO Youth Empowerment, Umuryango Nyarwanda w’Abagore Bafite Ubumuga (UNABU), Rwanda Ex-Combatants and Other Persons with Disabilities Organisation (RECOPDO), Organisation d’Intervention et promotion des Personnes atteinte d’Albinisme (OIPPA), Rwanda Union of Little People (RULP)

The General assembly meeting allowed the representatives of the new organizations to participate in the following agenda activities as member organisations.
