National Union of Disablity Organizations in Rwanda (NUDOR) with financial support from Liliane foundation through its programme called CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) has organized a 5 days training to the New CBR Facilitators in order to extend awareness of rights, how to provide accessible services to Persons with Disabilities and how to care them.
The training were held at Centre Saint Andre- Kabgayi in the District of Muhanga from 09th and will continue until 13th July 2018. Individuals from different NUDOR Partners Organizations (POs) in Rwanda were represented in the training and they gained skills on different things in Education, Health, alleviation of poverty among PWDs since many of their beneficiaries are Persons with Disabilities
During opening remarks, Mrs UMUTESI Rose who was represented President of the NUDOR Board of Director in the training expressed the reason of organizing the training. She briefly explained the Mission and Vision of the NUDOR and what is doing towards improving lives of persons with Disabilities in Rwanda through advocacy, UNCRPD (United Nations Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities) since some participants seems to be the new in the system.She continued her speech by saying that being a Child with disability is not a shame or a crust rather those children, if are followed up they are able even more than others without disability.
She added that the content of the training is not only important to NUDOR but also to NUDOR POs who will use the skill gained in their respective grassroots location and implement what learned in the training.
