Capacity building

workshopNUDOR was established in order to provide a platform for its members to share information and experience and to build their capacities to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. NUDOR has helped its members to carry out “Octagon” assessments of their organisational strengths and weaknesses wit the aim of identifying gaps where they need to assistance to develop their capabilities. We have conducted training on advocacy skills and planning and have assisted members to develop gender policies. NUDOR will continue to deliver training to and assist its members. It is currently working with individual member organisations to develop advocacy strategies and strategic work plans.

Recently NUDOR has started a programme of work training youth with disabilities on the rights contained in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and UN Convention on the Rights of Child, as well as skills in leadership advocacy and volunteerism.
